This is "Elvie". He is technically our foster cat but he has been living with us since November, when we found him wandering around an outlet mall. We called him Elvie because we found him on 11-11-11 so we thought something that sounded like "eleven" was proper. He is a wonderful cat and we would love to keep him but our guys are upset enough already about Lucy moving in, and they are even less thrilled about Elvie "renting a room" from us. The Collier Community Cat Coalition was kind enough to take him on as theirs, but after 3 weeks with no foster in sight, I offered to let him stay at our house. It would be nothing short of a miracle if my 4 guys would accept him and get along, and I will continue to try, but in the meantime we are keeping our eyes and ears open for a good home for him. (He is listed on adoptapet.com under the Collier Community Cat Coalition in Naples, FL.)

The Roos
This is Roo. She was a tough little kitten with a bad eye infection that someone
brought into the vet's office I was working for, after finding her
abandoned at an apartment complex. Every time I walked by her cage, she
reached out with her paw and tried to smack me, as if to say, "Let me out of here!" She tugged at my heartstrings and I had to give her a home. She was the first cat that we adopted together as a couple when we moved in together. And for whatever reason, after that, we started referring to all cats as "roos". Roo is a Tortie with a major Tortie attitude. She prefers to be the only child, so needless to say she is pretty unhappy about our ever-growing feline family. She is the independent woman type. Petting and attention run on her schedule - not yours. And if another cat breaches her "comfort zone", she'll throw one hell of a hissy fit.
Sprinkles ~ What a name for a male cat. My mom stopped by the vet's office on Christmas Eve to buy something, and there, alone in his cage, was this sad little kitten. All the others had been adopted for Christmas, but poor little Sprinkles would be an orphan in a cold cage on Christmas. This was just too sad for my mom to handle, so she brought him home and gave him to my step-brother as a Christmas surprise. But Chad and I ended up bringing him home with us one day and he's been in our hearts and in our bed ever since. He is the total opposite of Roo. He is a peacemaker. He managed to work his way into the hearts of 2 of our other cats, who came in as loners and fighters. He startles easily and doesn't like to be held, but he'll hop in bed with you and sleep on your head. He seems especially content since he won over Zachary and Lucy. He is so happy to have buddies to groom, cuddle and play with.
I Love Lucy... The name suits her well. She gets into more trouble than Lucy Ricardo ever did. We found her, or as I like to say, she found us, while we were on a walk one night on our street. We heard a little squeak in the bushes, and shined our flashlight down to see this tiny, helpless kitten surrounded by water from the rain. She was very skinny and dehydrated, and had bruises all over her belly. It took some time to nurse her back to health, but 6 months later she is a completely different cat. She is tough and confident and full of energy. Zachary and Roo hate her - probably because she is always chasing them and pissing them off - but Sprinkles really seems to enjoy her company and puts up with her antics so patiently. She loves to play fetch and eats more in a day than I do. She is our little troublemaker.
Zachary ~ My little lover boy. I have never had a cat so loving and affectionate, and so very loyal. I adopted him from the cat rescue/sanctuary that I used to work for. He and his brother Logan came to the sanctuary around the same time that I started working there, so with the 3 of us being new, we kind of bonded. I could hear Zachary meowing loudly from the other side of the property as soon as he would hear my voice, and he would come running and follow me around. And every night when I would go home, he would walk me to the gate and wait there - all night. When I came back to work in the morning, he was still sitting in the same spot by the gate, waiting for me to come back. That's when I knew... I had to bring him home. I think we became even closer after his brother Logan passed away last year. He is always by my side, cuddling and purring and talking up a storm. I feel so lucky to have him.
